The Five Steps to Stress Free Implant Success

  1. Data acquisition-What we need from you:

    • CBCT in DICOM format ( full arch is recommended)
    • Select one of the following: PVS impression of patient / cast of patient / intraoral scan(IOS) in STL format.
    • Rx form via website for type of treatment plan.
  2. Data management-What we do to plan the case:

    • CBCT and IOS will be uploaded and sent to Be-Guided through the web portal.
    • Casts will be picked up from office or shipped to Be-Guided
    • Once data acquisition is obtained, our team will complete the treatment planning process.
  3. Case planning approval-We need the doctor’s approval:

    • Once Be-Guided has completed the treatment planning, a confirmation of implant placement from the surgeon will be required. This step will require a few minutes with an online meeting platform.
  4. Production of guide:

    • After confirmation of treatment plan, the guide manufacturing process will take place and the case will be shipped out within 2 business days.
  5. Production of milled provisional (if necessary):

Case Workflow

CBCT Protocol

  • Patient CBCT scan must be taken with open vertical bite and cheeks retracted.
    • Tip: Cotton rolls can be used for patient to bite down to open vertical.
    • Tip: Cotton rolls can be used to separate cheeks within vestibular.
    • Tip: Patient must be in still and not in motion during scan process.

Workflow for Edentulous patients, Dual Scan Technique protocol 2 - CBCT scans required:

  • Workflow for edentulous patients, dual scan technique protocol CBCT scans required:
  • Patient will where existing denture with 6–8 radiopaque markers spread throughout the denture and a CBCT scan will take place.
    • Tip: Ensure the current denture is well fitted. Any loose fitting dentures a hard reline is required for proper fit of surgical guide
  • Denture with 6–8 radiopaque markers will be scanned by itself in the CBCT scanner.
    • Tip: Adjust CBCT setting to acquire the scan data of the denture. Place denture on top of a box as the base of the denture will sit upright as the scan takes place.

Cast and intraoral scan protocol

  • The stone cast or an intraoral scan of the patient’s mouth must be provided. The accuracy of this step will ultimately determine the accuracy of the guide and implant placement.

Impression / Cast of patient

  • Impression of arch must be taken in PVS impression material. Full arch impression is recommended.
  • Pour a cast using the PVS impression. Cast cannot be damaged, so package appropriately. We can pour the cast up for you if you wish.
  • Opposing arch and bite registration will be required for virtual tooth placement and immediate Provisionals.

Intraoral scan

  • The IOS system will require the ability to export in open STL format.
  • Full arch scan will be recommended.
  • Opposing arch and bite will need to be aligned before exporting STL scans.
    • Tips: for additional information please contact us.

Dr. Review Protocol

  • Once we have planned the case and placed virtual teeth for the surgeon we must get confirmation of our implant placement before we can go ahead and make the surgical guide. This will take about five-ten minutes per case of the surgeon’s time and we communicate via Go To Meeting. This will be as simple as receiving a link through an email, opening that link, and then viewing our computer screen through your monitor.

Irrigation protocol

  • It is important to note that the proper fitting surgical guide can block the irrigation of the drill. We highly recommend you use additional irrigation through a syringe to ensure water is getting through the drill and no bone is overheated.
